Grammy-nominated vocal acrobats and certifiable nutjobs, The Bobs Richard Bob Greene, Matthew Bob Stull, Amy Bob Englehardt, and Dan Bob Schumacher offer incredible live performances, witty, tuneful, original material, and outrageous covers of classic songs. In shows that are part comedy, part performance art, and utterly unique, this a cappella "band without instruments" fills the room with an orchestra of harmonious sound as they present a repertoire that ranges from soulful to satire, from familiar to unimaginable.
Formed in the Bay Area in 1981, the Bobs have played everywhere from Lincoln Center to Berlin's Passionkirche, earned four Grammy nominations, gained legions of adoring fans, and won just about every a cappella award there is to win. The group recently released a DVD that celebrates the breadth of their illustrious career, Sign My Snarling Movie: 25 Years of the Bobs.
In tonight's show, as always, classics will be skewered and rules broken as the Bobs spotlight numbers from their 14th CD, Get Your Monkey off My Dog.
