Stages of the River
TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE EVEN THOUGH ONLINE SALES HAVE ENDED! Walk up is fine. 13427 Chalk Hill road in Healdsburg. Performances at 2pm and 530 Saturday.
Hugh Livingston presents a large-scale 3-act River Opera at Warnecke Ranch & Vineyards in Healdsburg. Following the curving intersection of Brooks Creek and the River, the Opera will move from glade to glade, using natural features to define the stages. Libretto by local poet and forester Fred Euphrat.
Multiple musicians will be spread throughout the space, as well as installations that reflect on the sonic and visual qualities of the River. Reception with the artists before and after the event.
The opera will be about 90 minutes in duration. Allow 10-15 minutes afterwards to return to your car. Artwork will be on display with a small reception 30 minutes before each performance. Allow plenty of time for parking when arriving as the performances will begin promptly. Traffic on 101 is really bad on the weekends due to the casino.
The site is on a gentle grade, dirt roads and grass, so choose your footwear accordingly. Please contact us with any accessibility issues so we can plan to accommodate. There will be intermittent seating areas, but about half the time will be a 'stroll'. Free admission for kids!
Libretto by Fred Euphrat. Composition and Production by Hugh Livingston. Design by Philip Livingston. River instrument design by thingamajigs.
