The Wines of Italy
The well-established rule for a book club is that one not only requires a good book but also a great bottle of wine. We have spent the past year learning how to discuss literature so now we are inviting you to learn about Italian wines.

Please join Literary Affairs and Wine educator Giammario Villa for an evening dedicated to tasting the regional wines of Italy. Italy is currently the #1 wine exporting and producing country in the world, as well as the most imported country in the US. Giammario, an international sommelier will guide us through an understanding of the different wine producing regions, the wines and how to taste them.

About Giammario Villa
Wine Educator, International CertifiedSommelier, Wine Specialist in the US, Canada and European market.Brand manager for premium limited-production wines, under the label - Giammario Villa Wine Selection.

CURRENT EXHIBIT: On The Brink

A staggering 99.9% of all species that have existed on Earth are now extinct, and 38% of existing flora and fauna are threatened with extinction. On the Brinkfocuses on the interaction between humans and animals, profiling three categories of species  those killed off by human causes, those on the verge of extinction, and those that have been successfully rehabilitated. The images inOn the Brinkwere taken by photographers from around the world, while drawings of the earliest extinct species provide an visual of what those pre-photography animals looked like.

More than 1,000 species have gone extinct in the past 500 years, which does not account for the myriad flora and fauna that existed before proper documentation was available. For every story of a species disappearing there is a story of successful regeneration. In order to create more success stories and reduce extinction stories, more protections are vital. DDT bans, The Endangered Species Act of 1972 and the IUCN Red List are shining examples of the power human beings have to combat the destruction of their fellow global inhabitants. On the Brinkis meant to inspire others to follow in those footsteps.
