Moh Alileche: A Celebration of Imazighen Berber Music

Moh Alileche & Ensemble plays music of Kabiliye in Algeria, one of the 9 countries where the Imazighen live currently. He is one of the few people in the US who is performing and promoting Imazighen music.
The native people of North Africa call themselves Imazighen in plural, Amazigh singular, meaning "Free People". Paintings of over 5000 years old are the most complete existing record of prehistoric North Africa. Imazighen were invaded by, among others, Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantine. Berber music, culture and dance is a key element to keeping the to keep the Imazighen language and identity alive.
