| Description |
The Oxford International Film Festival is quickly becoming one of the Midwest's largest and fastest-growing international film & new artist events, featuring more than 70 of the best new exclusive short and feature-length independent films from around the globe each year, amidst 7-days of screenings, workshops, industry & celebrity guests, 3-days of indie concerts, filmmaker panels, parties & receptions, family events, an opening-night premiere event and closing-night, red carpet, black tie, awards gala. With over 530 submissions from 41-countries on 6-continents in its first year alone, hundreds of filmmakers in attendance, and featuring more than 50 local, regional, US and WORLD premiere films each year, the Oxford International Film Festival is already a globally-recognized premier event both by audiences, international media and industry-professionals alike. The 2009 event takes place July 24-30 at the Esquire Theatre in Cinainnati, Ohio, and the Savannah Center, in West Chester, Ohio.
The Oxford International Film Festival is the only event of its kind in the region, which the Cincinnati Enquirer called Sundance without snow, while MovieMaker magazine listed the festival among their top 25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee and predicted by the Journal-News to "...soon be Midwest's largest film festival".
