Event
Green Pastures by Marc Connelly
The Green Pastures, first produced in 1930, won Mr. Connelly the Pulitzer that year. The Lord is pictured taking on characteristics and qualities that are usually associated with human behavior, but as the play reminds us, God mad man in His own image. Although we see the Lord as a kindhearted patriarch, for Him, man is an experiment and it is apparent that the Lord is no more familiar with the possibilities of man than man is himself. The play's stream of African American spirituals and its ability to depict a wide array of moral lessons with love and humor make it an ideal choice for Ujima's 30th Anniversary Season.
This musical is a wonderful event for both the young and old so bring the whole family for a magical theatrical experience.
