Crooks Tour of San Francisco - Barbary Coast Tour
In this totally unique nighttime tour crime historian Paul Drexler uses new mobile technology (mini projectors attached to an iPhone) to bring the notorious Barbary Coast to life by projecting authentic historical images and videos onto buildings along the tour route.
We'll lead you into the infamous Barbary Coast. Walk where Shanghai Kelly kidnapped sailors, Learn about the Bull Run Saloon, the toughest bar in San Francisco, how a whiskey warehouse saved Jackson Square from the 1906 Earthquake.the legendary Hippodrone and the Bella Union Theatre. The tour starts 1st and 3rd Wednesday nights each month at 7:30PM at Cafe Prague, 424 Merchant Street, San Francisco
This historically accurate tour was developed by Paul Drexler and the late Kevin Mullen, Retired Deputy Police Chief of San Francisco. Paul Drexler has written extensively on San Francisco crime history. He also designed and co-produced the award winning "SFPD Homicide" CD-ROM game which has been used to teach police procedures and accident investigations. He has appeared on the Investigation Discovery Network show " Deadly Women" as an expert on San Francisco murderesses.
