Foibles Mench
NIMBY oakland, CA
Foibles Mench (Man's Folly) is a robot opera - the story of mans evolution and destruction brought about by technology and exploitation of the environment.
The plot follows the evolution of humanity from primitive to modern and beyond. Early humans frolic in the forest, then develop and build machines first to improve and then to unwittingly destroy their environment, with the machines eventually taking over and destroying everything including themselves.
Will mankind survive?
Live musical accompaniment featuring Kerry Walsh, and TradeMark Gunderson. Robots by Justin Gray.
The show will be continuous, defined into six parts with a total running time of 75 minutes.
This event will be held in a large outdoor stage nested in East Oakland, at an industrial art space called NIMBY. With its ample in/outdoor areas and convenient parking it will be a superb host - an excellent venue for this unusual performance.
Note: Music, food, drinks and entertainment before and after in main room. THERM, The Disgusting Spectacle, and others to be announced.
