Saint Elizabeth Hospital
Washington, DC
Share this event:

This year we are having an education event where we will learn:

Practical tools and innovative methods to integrate peer workers into the workforce;

How to integrate services for LGBTQ and Veteran community members into our programs for mental health and recovery; and

How to make the workplace a "trauma-informed safe work space"

Leading experts in the industry will share their thoughts and ideas on a wide range of mental health topics including:

Gaining access to treatment;

What it means to have peer workers in a clinical setting;

Medicaid billing for peer support workers;

Prevention techniques; and

Confidentiality issues
While employers recognize the importance of peer support workers in the work- place, they often do not fully understand what peer support is or how it works. The Summit will give you an opportunity to hear from experts in the field of peer support and clinical management. Discussion will focus on why a diverse work- force of employees adds to the impact of the work of an organization. Peer sup- port specialists enable better interaction with staff and provide insight into effec- tive approaches to treatment.

The 2014 Mental Health Summit will provide solutions integrating peer workers into your organization's agenda and successfully implement an action plan around it:

Key Takeaways:

Strengths peer providers bring to integrated health programs for system transformation

Skills peer providers are trained to use and deliver

Steps needed to integrate peer workers into your organization
