Bent Festival Workshop: Beginning Microcontroller Programming and Circuit Building

The Tank
New York, NY

This workshop will be a beginner-level overview of basic electronics, components, sensors, and the Arduino microcontroller platform.  No knowledge of electronics or circuit-bending is needed. Participants will build their own microcontroller platforms and program them to perform various tasks. The workshop will include a general discussion on how microcontrollers (such as the one participants will receive) can be used for music creation, modding, bending and general electronic havoc.

The price of the workshop will include everything you need to build your own breadboard based Arduino compatible board, a programming cable, and a bag of parts to build several simple projects such as a photo theremin.  Participants will only need to bring a Mac/PC/Linux laptop with an available USB port.  All other parts and tools will be provided.
