A cd release for The Level Heads new album Reinvent + a video premiere!
The Level Heads are an MC-Producer duo from the Twin Cities, featuring MC Mike Lipset and Producer Logan "Lokes" U'u. Hailing from the Bay Area, California, Lokes brings his Samoan heritage and West Coast sound to form the production, R&B, Roots-Reggae half of The Level Heads. Minneapolis born, St. Paul raised, Lipset offers a crisp delivery with fun and clever lyrics, forming the hip-hop half of The Level Heads. Separately, Lokes & Lip make music that resembles their individual backgrounds, but together they strike a musical balance that can only be known as The Level Heads.
Reinvent is The Level Heads' newest creation and their first album with a live band. The Level Heads plan on performing the music from Reinvent at the release party, May 3rd at Icehouse on Eat Street. The band is made up of Lokes (Vocals, Keys, Guitar), Lipset (MC), Kevin Israel (Guitar), Nick Johnston (Bass), and Jesse Gaston (Drums). The album, Reinvent, is titled both after a song on the album and as an ode to The Level Heads' personal reinvention of sound through their work with the band over the past two years. The album, as well as their trip to the SXSW music festival, which featured two shows from the band, was sponsored through a successful Kickstarter campaign that took place over the month of February, 2014.
I.B.E. & Benzilla - This, That & The Third is the upcoming collaborative effort from Minneapolis emcee I.B.E and producer Benzilla. The project finds a unique blend of Hip Hop that focuses on issues in society while also making you move. A project that reminds us that everything is just as important as the other. Fight, struggle, celebrate.
Created over the period of four years I.B.E and Benzilla have slow crafted a masterpiece that will take you on a journey filled with emotion. With features like Toki Wright, I Self Devine, Greg Grease, K-Raydio, Akrite and the mastering of Mike Swoop This, That & The Third is a project fans will want to listen to from start to finish without skipping and then repeating to take in all the knowledge I.B.E and guests lace Benzilla and Mike Swoop's backdrops with.
