River Legacy: A Tukwila Centennial Music Celebration!
Foster High School Performing Arts Center Tukwila, WA
Enjoy the songs and dances enjoyed by the people who have lived in this region, beginning with the First Peoples of Puget Sound, performed by the Duwamish cultural heritage group, Singing Feet. They will be followed by internationally-known fiddlers, Phil and Vivian Williams, performing dance tunes from the 1862 Maples/Van Asselt Wedding - the first wedding in Tukwila and attended by Chief Seattle and 700 of the Duwamish tribe. The concert features The Northwest Boychoir and Vocalpoint!Seattle performing American folk, spirituals, and patriotic songs from their new CD, recorded in honor of the Tukwila Centennial.
