THE SHINY LIGHTS W/DOMINIC'S TRIO
Minneapolis will be rocked by two of the areas most veteran ensembles, pop powerhouses, The Shiny Lights, who have too many awards to name and St Dominics Trio, a wonderfully distilled version of local hero, Terry Walsh's band The Belfast Cowboys. Come check out the lovely Icehouse, and make sure to have dinner before the show.
An original music offshoot of the popular Minneapolis Van Morrison cover band, The Belfast Cowboys, St Dominic's Trio is known as the Biggest Trio in the World because it almost always contains four or more players. The Trio released a CD of original songs in January of 2009, called "Switch", featuring the full Belfast Cowboys horn section, and produced by Minnesota music icon Rich Mattson. The CD release party was held at First Avenue's Mainroom. The band still plays every week in Minneapolis at clubs like Nye's, Kieran's, and Morrissey's.
