Description
New York City's most inspiring dance companies unite for one incredible cause...1,000's of miles away!!

For two evenings and one afternoon - Friday, May 1 at 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 2, at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm - the New York City dance community will unite to raise funding and awareness for Uganda's first ballet and modern dance school.  Bemoved Dance Company will be joined by over 40 of NYC's brightest dance talent, including those from the WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company, New York University, Bemoved Dance Company, and other critically acclaimed dance companies from across the East Coast.

Presale tickets for the show are $20 online and $25 at the door, with a limited number of discount floor seats available for $10.

The visionary behind the Ugandan school is the Nnabagereka, Queen of Uganda's Buganda Kingdom.  As Queen of her Kingdom, the Nnabagereka has been a committed champion of poverty eradication and a vociferous advocate of opportunity for young Ugandans, particularly in the arts and health.

All profits from the Uganda Dance Benefit performances will be used to expand the scope of the outreach efforts of Uganda's Kampala Dance School, also known as the Kampala Ballet and Modern Dance School.  Funds raised will facilitate the school's efforts to bring dance to underserved children in the public schools, Ugandans living with HIV/AIDS, and the physically disabled.

Following the Saturday evening performance, a reception and a "Dance with the Performers" will be hosted at Water Street Restaurant & Lounge, a short walk from the theater.  Admission to the after-party is $15 and includes a drink special until midnight.

Do not miss these spectacular performances of cultural expression, art, and goodwill!
