Master Recycler Fall Course 2006

Course structure The popular eight-week course includes two field trips and instruction in topics such as waste prevention, recycling processes, alternatives to hazardous household products, green building and composting.
Course is held: 7-9:30 pm on eight Tuesdays in September and October (9/5,9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24). Two half-day Saturday field trips are also planned Sept 23 & Oct. 21.
Participant responsibilities After completing the course, graduates put their skills to work to help others learn the three Rs: Reduce the amount of solid waste generated; Reuse material for the purpose for which it was intended; and Recycle material that cannot be reused. Master Recyclers volunteer to staff information booths at community events, provide presentations and work on special projects. Participants agree to volunteer at least 30 hours after completing the course.
Attendance at all classes and an agreement to complete the 30 volunteer hours is required to be considered for the Master Recycler Certification.
