Daniel Acsadi presents a classical guitar recital with music from the Old and New Worlds, including works by Béla Bartók and Robert Beaser.
Through his acclaimed performances, teaching, and artistic directorship, Daniel Acsadi is creating a unique and exciting direction for the classical guitar. Guided by his wide-ranging interests and Hungarian-American heritage, Dan's repertoire and research interests link the great musical traditions of Europe and the Americas.
Since winning his first guitar competition at the age of fifteen, Dan has performed extensively throughout the US, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. As Director of the Boston Classical Guitar Society, Dan is striving to create an unprecedented local presence for the classical guitar through concert series, educational initiatives, and community activities. He is also a former Associate Director of Boston GuitarFest and a New England Conservatory (NEC) Teaching Fellow.
Beginning his musical studies at age six, Dan earned his MM from NEC and BA from Cornell University, where he double majored in music and economics. Dan's principal teachers have included Eliot Fisk, Pablo Cohen, John Hall, and Alexandre Pier Federici. He is currently completing his doctoral degree at NEC. Dan lives in Newton, where he maintains private teaching studio and is on the faculty at Bridgewater State University, Powers Music School, and the New School of Music.
