11:30 a.m. Registration, Noon Luncheon
Directly preceding the luncheon, the Arts Fund will present two concurrent seminars featuring national experts addressing areas key to supporting a strong and vibrant arts community. Seminars will include lively, high-level presentations and discussions. The seminars are optional and available to registered luncheon attendees. Space is limited.
Seminar 1: NEW RESEARCH ON ADVOCACY AND THE ARTS
Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research and Policy at Americans for the Arts
Arts advocates are made, not born. Your ability to articulate the value and benefits of the arts to government and community leaders is critical to arts funding. This lively seminar will give you the tools and strategies that will make you the arts resource that decision makers look to for years to come.
Seminar 2: CONNECTIVITY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Howard Shalwitz, Artistic Director & Co-Founder, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company
Woolly Mammoth, one of the nation's leading producers of innovative new plays, has pioneered a new community engagement strategy called "Connectivity," which has become a model for many other American theater companies. Shalwitz will share this compelling model.
