The Rainey Music Project Concert for Ryan's House
The Rainey Music Project is the most recent artistic endeavor of Rainey <en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainey_Haynes>, a multi-talented artist who moved to the Pacific Northwest from LA after working with some of the best and the brightest lights in the music business, performing hundreds of concerts for an ever-growing cult following of devoted rock fans, and writing and/or singing her way into a number of successful movies and TV shows.
She is joined in The Project by an international array of very gifted, world-class musicians: the brilliant New Zealand native Robert Marsanyi on keyboards; our own awesome Rich Rorex on guitar, who holds performance and composition degrees from Cornish; the very popular Dave Willis of Whidbey Island on bass; Alan Brown from Manchester, England, on drums, whose band 'Fancy' opened for the Who and Pink Floyd on many tours; and powerhouse singers Nicole and Steve Strasburg and Kim Jones, backups for Beverly Graham and many other fine projects.
The Rainey Music Project is dedicating its first concert appearance to raising funds and awareness for Ryan's House for Youth <ryanshouseforyouth.org>, a charity organization of Whidbey Island dedicated to providing shelter and resources for homeless teens. As one astute young person recently observed, "They have shelters for dogs and cats; why can't they have one for kids?"
