Meet Ivory a self-made, creative, vibrant, beautiful wife, mother, and businesswoman. She is proud, she is confident, she is intelligent, and she is happy. Her children love and respect her, her community looks up to her, her husband worships and adores her, but her father is somehow ashamed of her simply because of the color of her skin. The one person who always showed her unconditional love is suddenly taken away and her whole world crumbles. Ivory fights her way back to the top and in an instant all of her efforts and hard work are threatened. What happens when a shocking force of life sweeps into her life and forces everyone around her to look at their own baggage of distress, pain and insecurity? Experience the Black Love Experience is a contemporary play that examines the sparks that fly when people are forced to deal with the repercussions of lack of communication and conformity to society's views on physical appearance.
