Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing rooted in the ancient Vedic culture of India. Ayurveda is one of the oldest integrative medical systems in the world. Ayurveda literally meaning the Science of life is a sister science to yoga and helps to balance the dynamic relationship between our bodies and nature. Ayurveda is based on the belief that we have the ability to heal ourselves and helps to provide each individual with a better understanding of their own unique bio- energetic makeup. In increasing this self-awareness we become better equipped to realize our own path to health and our truest human potential.

A Bay Area native, Bashari George has been interested in the connection between the body and nature since she was a young child. She began this journey by exploring her passion for dance. She started her undergrad at York University in Toronto Canada and later graduated from New College of California in 2007 with a B.A. in International Studies and Performance Art. While at New College she studied somatics, music, and dance. She has taught dance, gymnastics, and health to children and adults in diverse communities throughout the Bay Area. As well as dancing with a number of dance performance companies including Za Za dance theatre, El Wah Movement , Our Thing dance company, Destiny Arts Performance Company and Soul Ascendance.
In 2005 the culmination of Bashari's interest in community health began when she worked for T.E.A.Ms as a group facilitator and helped to design and implement a health promotion program for Pacific Islander teens in Bayview/Hunters Point. Shortly thereafter she studied abroad in Beijing China and became interested in Chinese Medicine and other alternative health modalities. She fell in love with Ayurveda after a family friend recommended a visit to an Ayurvedic clinic and the impact of that visit on the life and health of herself and her family was so profound she had to learn more. She attended Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda and graduated in 2011with a diploma as an Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle Counselor. Since then she has studied Ayurvedic body work and oil treatments and is excited to integrate this into her practice.
She feels fortunate to have found a path that combines her love for working with people and her passion for healing that is grounded in the body, guided by the heart and propelled by the spirit.
