Doughnut Holes
Doughnut Holes is about the relationship between truth and lies, and how the small untruths we learn can persist and change over time. A collection of true stories from the creators and their loved ones combine to give a glimpse into what it means to lie (and, by extension, what it costs to know the truth). Join us on a heartfelt and offbeat journey into the nature of truth and of lies big and small.
Mirum Mirum Productions is a Seattle-based theatre company founded by nine graduates of Western Washington University. We are committed to producing new works primarily through Devised Theatre -- a technique used to create original work through collaboration between a team of artists.
After the success of our first play, (dis)Order, we knew we wanted to explore a different direction of performance. (dis)Order was clinical, linear, and as reality-based as the subject matter we drew inspiration from. We knew that whatever we did as our second piece would need to revel in the organic abstraction that drew our group to theatre in the first place. The result is a piece that is not cemented in time it is a look at who we are as individuals and how our experiences have shaped us as people and artists. The stories you will see come from our own backgrounds as well as those of our family and friends. Doughnut Holes is a lot like us; personal, intimate, and just a little bit silly.
