Singlehandedly: 1 Night Only (2 shows!)
Portland Story Theater presents Singlehandedly, a festival of solo performances that runs April 24th, 25th, May 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th.
Join our festival host, Lynne Duddy, as she welcomes these incredible artists to the stage: Sharon Knorr reprises her popular one-woman show, "Why Cant I Marry The Cute Beatle?" Lawrence Howard stitches together three interconnected coming-of-age tales into a performance called "The Adventures of Huckleberry Howard." Rick Huddle performs "Spent," a quirky solo piece about the current economic crisis. Will Hornyak splices classic myth with a personal tale about his wild, mis-spent youth. Improv artist Brad Fortier gives us "Glory Hole-llelujah," one gay man's travail through the lands of easy anonymous sex to the deeper sea of new-found love. Puppeteer Penny Walter brings us a montage of characters that weave together life's good, bad, and funny moments, called "Out of My Hands." And Antonio Sacre of LA shares "Burning Feathers," a story about love, betrayal, and moving on.
There will be twelve solo performances over six nights.
Each ticket gets you a double-header: two full-length solo performances. Or you can purchase a 3-Night Pass if you'd like to see more than one night's worth of shows.
