Architecture Matters: Art of the Detail
Join hosts Kris Barkley, AIA, Arturo Levenfeld, AIA and Saxon Sigerson, AIA for a casual evening of discussion centered on the topic of design as it relates to the art of architectural detail.

The devil is in the details as they say or, as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe stated, "God is in the detail". Either way, great architecture is often distinctly defined by the quality of detail contained within the structure. Mies, Kahn, Piano and Kundig all could be considered examples of "Masters of Modern Detail" and will be the focus of our exploration.

Do buildings need a singularity of detail to be a successful design? Does modern detail replace ornamentation as a humanizing element of architecture? Our open forum discussion is intended to explore these questions and others in our continuing Architecture Matters series.

Dinner and drinks will be provided.
