Fill The Void tells the story of an Orthodox Hassidic family in Tel Aviv whose youngest daughter, 18-year-old Shira, is about to be married off to a young man of the same age. Shira's older sister, Esther, dies during childbirth leaving her husband to care for the child and postponing Shira's promised match. When the girls' mother learns that Esther's husband may leave the country with her grandchild, she proposes a match between Shira and the widower. Shira must choose between her heart's wish and her family duty.
