Advocacy Day 2014
Governor Kasich and the leaders of state agencies will be announcing proposals for the mid-biennial budget review in the coming days and weeks. This is the very beginning of the process to work out important details for child care, early education, and afterschool programs and that work will include your Senator and Representative! As your legislators work on these details, meet in Committees, and vote on issues, they will be making decisions about you, your program, and the families enrolled in your program. We need to work together to make sure our Legislators hear about child care, early education, and afterschool programs in Ohio.
Every voice counts and we're going to need every voice this year!
On March 12, we'll be at the Capitol in Columbus with Action for Children, Early Care and Education Consortium, Ohio Afterschool Network, Ohio Alliance of YMCAs, Ohio Association of Child Care Providers, and Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association to talk with legislators and give them the latest facts and stories about our teachers, staff and families.
We hope you can join us! Lunch will be provided as part of the $15.00 per participant registration fee. As part of the registration process, we will collect the information necessary to schedule appointments with your Senator and Representative from your community.
The Day at the Capitol will begin at 10:00 a.m. with updates and tips on meeting with legislators to make sure everyone is prepared and ready to share their story.
Watch your email for important updates and opportunities!
Thank you for all that you do to support the children and families in Ohio.
