ABOUT THE SHOW - A professional stage production produced in New York City for the 2014 national tour which is in its third year and has created excitement among audiences and recovery communities in dozens of cities across the United States and Canada.
"Pass It On...An Evening with Bill W. & Dr. Bob" transports you to late 1940's as if you're in an old time recovery meeting with the beloved co-founders of Alcoholics Anonymous as the guest speakers. They tell their stories of drinking and recovery and "dramatize" key events such as their legendary drinking sprees and the extraordinary night they met in Akron, Ohio.
In the second act - Bill and Bob regale the audience with yarns about the early history of A.A. - including writing and publishing the Big Book, creating The 12 Steps and how they overcame tremendous obstacles while struggling to develop their new program of recovery and pass it on to others who were still suffering.
After each performance - nationally acclaimed Broadway Veteran actors Gary Kimble (Bill W.) and Will Stutts (Dr. Bob) will share their personal stories about the impact of alcoholism on their own lives - and invite the audience to join them in a heart-to-heart question and answer "talk back" always bearing witness to healing miracles.
PASS IT ON was created to serve as the centerpiece for a national recovery education campaign - touring from coast to coast in the U.S. and beyond - raising awareness about the history of recovery and the solution to America's Number One Public Health Issue and carrying the message of hope and the miracle of recovery through the powerful medium of live theater - reaching people who cannot be reached in any other way.
PASS IT ON...AN EVENING WITH BILL W. & DR. BOB has been chosen on behalf of Alcoholics Anonymous World Services to serve as the Recovery Entertainment Centerpiece at the 80th International A.A. Convention to be held in Atlanta Georgia in July 2015.
PASS IT ON was debuted in Phoenix Arizona in 2011 and since has been seen on stages in dozens of cities from coast to coast in the U.S. and beyond. - often serving as the catalyst for fund raising events to support local recovery services in each community where this unique and dynamic recovery based theatrical experience is presented.
PASS IT ON is presented by The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. - NCADD, Inc. is the oldest and largest Recovery Advocacy organization in the world with 92 affiliate offices in the United States.
