Experience a rich evening of amazing West African cuisine, hypnotic music and dance, and raw culture as we come together to celebrate sung and unsung Great Americans of the African Diaspora, brought from the beautiful regions of Senegal, West Africa.
Enjoy a FULL-COURSE Senegalese Dinner with Appetizers, Dessert and a choice entree' of Thiebou Dieun (Fish and vegetables over Jollof Rice), Maafe (Peanut butte stew over rice)* or Yassa Ginarr (Chicken and onion sauce over Jasmine Rice)! * Lamb/Vegetarian
The goal of this grand event is to honor a culture that have produce major contributors to the advancement of this country by exploring the legacies of Richard Pierpoint, Phyllis Wheatley, Lena Horne, Mae Jemison, and many other great Americans of Senegalese descent.
Live Drum and Dance performances & the melodious sounds of the 21-string Kora, performed by Amadou "AmeKora" Fall of Senegal.
