The new CD, Songs My Father Sang, is a collection of songs Margie learned at her father's knee. Bill Butler was a successful and accomplished Irish tenor. His career spanned 5 decades and he had a big influence on Margie. She got her love of Irish music and culture from him.
Several Irish favorites are included on the new CD, including; "Danny Boy, "When Irish Eyes are Smiling", "My Wild Irish Rose" as well as rousing and fun pieces; "Mick McGilligan's Ball", "Paddy McGinty's Goat", "If You're Irish, Come Into the Parlor".
A slight bit of a departure from Golden Bough's more traditional songs and original compositions, these songs pay tribute to Bill Butler's talent for singing songs with lovely melodies and music hall humor.
