About Us The Coming Out Monologues is an event celebrating our diverse stories of coming out from the LGBTQA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-gender, transsexual, queer, ally) community. This is a great opportunity to tell your own story or read a created monologue.
Most of people who perform with us have little to none performance experience. We work with them to get them stage ready and support them along the way. This is a celebratory and resilience building event for the LGBTQ community and allies are welcome to perform as well as attend the event and celebrate with us.
Our Philosophy As an organization we value individual stories and believe that empowerment can be found through the expression of personal experiences. Exploring the immense range of perspectives from current and previous generations builds a sense of community and helps to create allies. By having events like this in Calgary we create safe spaces for the LGBTQ community and strengthen the perception the Calgary community as queer friendly and progressive environments.
