Toluma Farms & Tomales Farmstead Creamery Dinner
Toluma Farms & Tomales Farmstead Creamery invite you to our inaugural farm-to-table, spring awakening dinner on March 15th!
We will begin at 5pm with a walk up to the pastures to visit the new baby lambs and kids (as well as their lovely moms and manly dads), tour the creamery, milking parlor, garden, barn and apple/pear orchard. At 6pm we will have cocktails and appetizers (local oysters from Tomales Bay) up at the newly completed farmhouse. Relax on the porch taking in the view which overlooks the beautiful West Marin rolling (and hopefully green) hills.
Good Food: Friend of all farms (and lucky for us our farm) is executive chef, Adam Timney. Adam is the chef/partner of Starbelly restaurant in SF. His food is unfussy, local, seasonal, comforting with flavors that are more spectacular than the bright stars you will be gazing at throughout the evening. This meal will source the food from the farm and creamery (lamb, lettuces/veggies, lots of cheese, homemade ice cream and much more). We will keep you updated as the menu develops (have to see what the garden grows).
Good Wines: Wines for the evening will be from Cannonball Winery in Healdsburg. We love their wines, philosophy and playfulness. This is what they have to say, "so while the swan dive might be graceful, a back one-and-a-half somersault-tuck might be impressive, and a cliff dive is just ballsy, if you do them right, they don't make a splash. So follow our instructions on how to Cannonball and we hope you find our wines as enjoyable and memorable as those summers you spent as a kid doing Cannonballs. And don't forget to share a splash with friends."
We have spent 11 years restoring this organic, 160 acre land, protected it by placing in a land trust with Marin Agriculture Land Trust, resurrected the old dairy, built a creamery to make outstanding cheeses and now are adding events to ensure the financial sustainability of the farm. Your participation allows us to buy the extra alfalfa that is needed in our current drought conditions.
All of us (chefs, farmers, winemakers, cheesemakers, herdmanagers, and milkers) look forward to sitting along side with you (new and old friends/supporters) and breaking bread.
