Spring Beating: SVRG's Dot.Kamikazes vs. Sac City Rollers
The South Bays very own All-Womens Flat Track Roller Derby League, the Dot.Kamikazes of the Silicon Valley Roller Girls (San Jose, CA), will be hosting the Sac City Rollers in a springtime scuffle on skates. Spring Beating, the first home bout of SVRGs second season, is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2009. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the bout gets underway at 7 p.m. Come and show your support for your local derby girls by donning your green and black. San Jose Skate on Blossom Hill will be the battlegrounds for a season-opener that is sure to be a bout to remember. Tickets are currently on-sale online at Brown Paper Tickets <www.brownpapertickets.com>: $15 for adults and $6 for kids; tickets at the door are $17 for adults and $8 for kids; babies in arms (two and under) are free. A portion of the proceeds from the bout will be given to Habitat for Humanity. As always, the bout will feature beer gardens (for 21 and over) and a snack bar, an entertaining, all-ages half-time show, raffle prizes and more. SVRG is excited for the premiere of the leagues newest team, the Dot.Kamikazes.
