3rd Annual Taste of Slow Food San Diego
The "3rd Annual Taste of Slow Food" will be held on Sunday, August 27th, 2006 at Orfila Vineyards in Escondido from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
Guests will experience unique culinary creations prepared by twelve of San Diego' s finest chefs using fresh seasonal, organic produce grown by local farmers. Attendees will taste their way through exquisite food stations. Wines from Orfila Vineyards and Beer from Stone Brewing Co.

The theme of the event is "Chefs Farmers and World Cuisine." The evening includes a silent auction of specialty items and a special musical performance by Tony DiBona and Tony Soraci of Roman Holiday Music. Greg Koch of Stone Brewing Co. will M.C.
The event will benefit San Pasqual Academy,an alternative residential and education option for San Diego County foster teens and the Terra Madre. Slow Food San Diego is committed to awakening young people to the enjoyment and health benefits of wholesome food. Proceeds donated to San Pasqual will be used to continue the Academy's sustainable farm which is successfully teaching teens about ecologically sound food production. This project gives them a sense of positive accomplishment through land stewardship.
