Andy McKee and Don Ross at the Randolph Theatre, Toronto, June 12 2014
Fingerstyle guitar greats Andy McKee and Don Ross will be reuniting for a few select concerts in Canada this Spring, including a show at Toronto's Randolph Theatre on June 12, 2014.
Andy stormed onto the world guitar scene with the viral phenomenon of his original piece "Drifting," which has gone on to gather almost 50 million views on YouTube. The success of this and other videos has led to him becoming a household word in the world of guitar music, and an in-demand performer in every corner of the globe.
Montreal's own Don Ross has been touring internationally for 25 years now, and is regularly cited by Andy himself as one of the prime influences on his playing and composing style. The length of Don's career, and the extent of his itinerant performing schedule, have combined to make him one of the most influential musicians currently on the scene. Several of his recordings have been hailed as among the best and most influential in the genre by such publications as Acoustic Guitar and Guitar Player.
Opening the evening will be a rising star on the solo guitar scene, Alberta's Calum Graham. Calum has released several solo recordings (including the most recent "Phoenix Rising") as well as a duo recording with Don Ross entitled "12:34," both for the prestigious Candyrat label.
This promises to be an amazing night of guitar mastery.
