A show about hair and the politics of personal grooming!
Solo performance powerhouses Martha Rynberg and Thao P. Nguyen have broken out of the solo shackles! They join forces with "In the Crosshairs," a two-person sketch comedy show about hair. Yes, hair!
Have you ever wondered what your nose hairs would say if they could talk? Ever uttered "oops" while cutting your friend's hair? Want to try on 15 different pubic hair wigs?
Rynberg and Nguyen explore our intimate relationships with the hair on our bodies. It's a critical exploration of how sexism, misogyny, racism, and homophobia impact how we style, groom, remove, and grow hair - but mostly, it's fun.
::: ABOUT THE ARTISTS :::
Thao P. Nguyen has been writing and performing solo shows since she joined the Solo Performance Workshop in 2007. Her full-length one-women comedy, Fortunate Daughter, was named one of the top ten Bay Area plays of 2013 by KQED Year in the Arts!
Martha Rynberg is the director and facilitator of the Solo Performance Workshop. She is director of the internationally acclaimed solo show W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour and a producer of the FX late-night television show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell!
