Ad Hoc Presents: Of Love Letters and Serenades
ROCHESTER, NY Local chamber ensemble Ad Hoc Music will present a concert at the Harley School on February 15 at 7:30 PM. The program, entitled Of Love Letters and Serenades, will include selections from with romantic inspirations: "Serenade in Bb for Winds" by Emil Hartmann, "String Quartet No. 1 'Love Letters'" by Carter Pann, "Octet in Eb" by Ludwig van Beethoven, "Serenade Op. 4 For Clarinet and String Trio" by Ernest Krenek, and "Siegfried Idyll" by Richard Wagner. Ad Hoc Music is comprised of Eastman students and members from the greater Rochester area, and conducted by Boon Hua Lien. The concert is open to the public and tickets are $5 if purchased online and $7 at the door. A reception will follow the performance.
Of Love Letters and Serenades is an exploration of how love letters and music represent the concept of romance. Ad Hoc Music's co-artistic directors Matt Osika and Boon Hua Lien have paired the reading of love letters from audience members and historical figures with beautiful music that aims to satisfy the audience members' ears and hearts.
