All proceeds go to National Eating Disorders Association, "dedicated to providing education, resources and support to those affected by eating disorders." A contribution large or small gives the gift of support & recovery to those who need it!
BODYLOVE: QUEER BODIES REVEALED THROUGH THE SPOKEN WORD! BodyLove will open your eyes and your heart, as 10 talented and distinct writers take the stage to REVEAL untold stories about queer bodies. A benefit show for National Eating Disorders Association, BodyLove will take you on a journey through the PAIN, SHAME, RECOVERY and liberation of "the tyranny of thin," and other battles with body image and eating addiction/disorders. But don't forget the LOVE! The evening will also celebrate the beauty and BOUNTY of bodies, flaunting who we are and entertaining the outrageous notion that what we've got is SUPER HOT.
THE PERFORMERS: The line-up includes artists who are gaining international recognition and funding for their work. Chad Goller-Sojourner will perform excerpts of his award-winning one-man show, "Sitting in Circles With Rich Girls: Memoirs Of A Bulimic Black Boy." Amber Flame, a nationally touring word artist and author of one-woman show SKINSTORIES & OTHER HALF-TRUTHS will also grace the stage. SHIFT is a Peer Recovery Network supporting dynamic recovery paths by uniting our LGBTQ community to experience freedom through empowerment. A collaboration between Multifaith Works, Seattle Counseling Service, Gay City Health Project, & Dunshee House, Home of SASG.
TUMBLEME PRODUCTIONS is the down & dirty intersection where grassroots social change and d.i.y. art meet. TumbleMe founder Elaina M. Ellis is a wordnerd poet, hardfemme performer, and luckyduck teacher. She is also a recovering/recovered bulimic, grateful to be producing this show.
