Sea Change Theatre Company presents Sophocles' ANTIGONE, a contemporary horror about truth and death.
February 28, March 1, 7, 8, 14, 15 Friday at 8pm ~ Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm
In the aftermath of Oedipus killing his father and marrying his mother, Oedipus's two sons, Polyneices and Eteocles, die fighting each other for control of Thebes. Kreon has assumed rulership of the kingdom and declares that the body of Polyneices, a traitor to Thebes, shall not be buried, but will rot in the fields outside the city. The daughters of Oedipus rise up against the law to bury the body, believing it is every person's right to have a proper burial. This contemporary production of the ancient tragedy draws out the questions of civil disobedience, unwritten laws, and human rights.
