Kayo Dot - ONLINE TICKETING CLOSED - TICKETS AVAILABLE AT DOOR ONLY
In.Fil.Trate. and Shoggoth presents
Kayo Dot
Featuring Deer Creek, Ghosts Of Glaciers, Blood Corpse Of Necrotic Damnation
Doors: 7 p.m.
Show: 7:30 p.m.

This post rock-metal meets jazz-noise monolith will play Denver, fresh off their performance at the upcoming South by Southwest.

Kayo Dot is headed-up by Toby Driver, a multi-instrumentalist and established composer and performer from Brooklyn, New York. Driver is perhaps best known as the bass player of Trey Spruance's Secret Chiefs 3 and has collaborated with jazz avant-garde heavy weights as John Zorn and Mary Halvorson.

Kayo Dot is on tour to support their recently released album Hubardo and marks the band's tenth anniversary.

Hubardo, meaning "lantern" or "lamp" in the magickal language of Enochian. This latest album captures aspects of all the shades of Kayo Dot from the past decade, including some that even hearken back to the band's former identity, the progressive Maudlin of the Well such as the album's opening: a stark and disturbing guest vocal appearance by Maudlin of the Well's screamer Jason Byron  his first recorded appearance since 2001.

From weird metal to beautiful post-rock, from demented ballads to tripped-out 70s fusion, this double-album has it all. With Hubardo, Kayo Dot has crafted an enormous masterpiece of 21st-century progressive music.

Critics have been hailing the milestone recording by Kayo Dot. National Public Radio's All Songs Considered had this to say about Hubardo:

"There's a lot to absorb in the 100 minutes that make up Hubardo, an ambitious concept album about a meteor that falls to earth and transforms a lonely poet. Longtime fans of Kayo Dot can hear bits and pieces of the avant-metal band's decade of sonic transgression weave in and out  twisted Gorguts-ian death metal, ominous sound structures that cross The Cure and Scott Walker, a healthy taste for King Crimson. The album's third track, "Thief," is a reminder that leader Toby Driver has no problem doing all three at once."

The show is all ages. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show.
