Tickets are no longer available online, but are still available at the door one hour prior to tonight's performance.
Monroe Crossing - one of the nation's leading professional bluegrass bands - joins the choirs of the University of Wisconsin - Superior for the regional premier of "The World Beloved: A Blue Grass Mass" by Carol Barnett.
The unique work fuses together virtuosic sounds of banjo, fiddle, and mandolin with the classical choral tradition. The UW-Superior Chamber choir opens the performance with three American folk tunes with ties to the Twin Ports, including a premier arrangement of Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." Then, Monroe Crossing offers their own solo set before the combined performance of "The World Beloved."
The all-ages concert will run just over one hour and is graciously hosted by the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior, WI.
