Holler, Wild Rose! & Ric Hordinski
As part of their early spring tour, New Jersey artists Holler, Wild Rose! bring their dynamic and multi-faceted sound to The Monastery performance space in Cincinnati, OH for an unique evening of music with celebrated Cincinnati-based songwriter, guitarist and producer Ric Hordinski.
___

Holler, Wild Rose! and their debut album Our Little Hymnal, are testaments to reaching for the transcendent beyond the struggle of life and an explosive joy beyond circumstance.  Noted for it's stunning range - from epic shoegaze rock orchestrations to intimate and nuanced statements in song - the band's debut album was featured as a Napster staff pick on the day of release, received front page placement on iTunes Australia and was selected by Mathieu Schreyer of KCRW as one of his top ten albums of 2007.

FILTER Magazine chose Holler, Wild Rose! as their March 2008 "Discovering the Undiscovered" selection and presented their music alongside PJ Harvey, Counting Crows, Ryan Adams, and Joy Division on the FILTER Magazine CMJ 2007 Festival compilation CD.

Performing Songwriter Magazine said of the album debut, "I don't recommend doing anything else -- such as reading, writing or dusting -- when listening to Our Little Hymnal...with a voice somewhere between Jim James, Thom Yorke and Jeff Buckley, lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist John Mosloskie leads this exceptional band through dramatic, melodic twists and turns that will keep you staring -- yes, staring -- at the speaker to catch what will happen next. Imagine if Explosions In the Sky had a lead vocalist, and you're getting close."

Years before Radiohead put Sigur Ros on the map, Ric (pronounced "Rich") Hordinski was painting soundscapes on Over the Rhine records. His instrumental interludes and echo-laden guitar gave the band a rich, layered sound, and may have kept the band from falling headlong into the mid-tempo singer-songwriter abyss.

Since leaving OTR, Ric has appeared on records with David Wilcox, Tony Levin, Bill Kreutzmann, Victor Wooten, Victoria Williams and Robbie Fulks. He's produced award-winning records for a host of folks including Wilcox and Phil Keaggy.

On his own, hiding behind the Monk moniker, he released five independent records that featured alternately the songwriting craft he honed during his eight years in OTR, the ambient guitar that garnered demand as a studio musician and the ear for songcraft that makes him an excellent producer. Ric recieved a Grammy nomination in 2003, two Cammy awards and a Dove award in 2002.
