Hands on Wool Felting and Processing
This workshop will introduce you to the world of hand processing wool directly from sheep. How do we prepare this wonderful fiber to use as a material in artistic creations? We will demonstrate how wool is washed, picked, carded and spun into yarn. You will get to experience some of these techniques yourself during the first part of the workshop. In the second part, you will learn how to needle felt wool to create a piece of art to take home with you. A felt base and hand-dyed, natural colored wool will be provided for you to make a project that can be turned into a door hanger, an art piece for your wall, pin cushion or anything else you can think of!
Participants must be no younger than 10 years old.
Any pre-teens must have adult attending with them.
