Mardi Gras RVA! 2014 Saturday
Join us for the 3nd Annual MARDI GRAS RVA! on March 1 & March 4, 2014 at
Dogtown Dance Theatre in historic Manchester, Richmond, VA (109 West 15th Street, Richmond, Virginia 23224)
This year it's RIO in RVA! (you know, festive family-friendly.) So wear a costume, get some friends, make a float, be a walking float or line the streets to catch some beads, Mister, then be entertained and dance the night away!
BE IN THE PARADE
Saturday, March 1: Make yoself up a float and be in our first-ever automobile parade! Contact party@mardigrasrva.com to buy a spot in the parade. Businesses/Groups $75; non-profits $30. Must register by Feb 22. Walkers, dancers, marching bands, step groups, noise makers - ya'll get in on the fun, too. Gathering is at 2:45pm in the parking lot by Dogtown Dance Theatre on the corner of 15th and Bainbridge, 23224. Parade hits the streets at 3:00p.
Tuesday, March 4: Fat Tuesday parade remains a non-motorized event with All The Saints' Theater Company leading the way. Family-friendly so dress appropriately and for the weather whatever it might be. Bring instruments, noisemakers and lights, too. Gathering is at 5:15pm in the parking lot by Dogtown Dance Theatre on the corner of 15th and Bainbridge, 23224. Parade hits the streets at 5:30p.
Parade Route for both days: Leaves from 15th St. and Bainbridge St. going west on 15th to Porter St. Right turn on Porter heading north to 10th St. Right turn on 10th St heading east to Bainbridge. Right turn on Bainbridge heading south back to 15th St where it began.
ENJOY PERFORMANCES afterwards inside at Dogtown Dance Theater. Saturday show starts @ 4:00p; Tuesday show at 7:00p. Tickets are $10/person, under 12 gets in FREE! Just the beginning of a list of performers includes Host of Sparrows Aerial Dance, RVA Hoop Mafia, Khalima, Claves Unidos Community Class. Tickets online at brownpapertickets or $10 at the door. Dancing throughout to Rattlemouth and authentic Rio and New Orleans music.
