ALBORADA SPANISH DANCE THEATRE'S EXCITING TENTH ANNUAL GALA & FUNDRAISER - "MADRID 1930"
Celebrate with Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre, as we take you on an exciting journey back to Madrid in 1930, to the Golden Age when traditional flamenco and classical dances flourished in Spain and worldwide, at our 10th Annual Gala & Fundraiser on Sunday March 16, 2014 at the Ria Mar Restaurant (beautifully renovated this year!) at 25 Whitehead Avenue, South River, NJ 08882, www.ria-mar.com from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Wear your favorite ruffles and flounces a la 1930's (best outfit will win a prize!) and enjoy a sumptuous buffet-style ALL Spanish banquet with Sangria, and incredible desserts! Featuring special performances by the Alborada Dancers and Musicians! Music for your dancing pleasure will be provided by a DJ/singer, plus there will be door prizes, a silent auction and more!

Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; tickets are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Proceeds will benefit Alborada's programming, which brings the "Passion of Spanish Dance Theatre" and the rich diversity of the Spanish cultural arts to over 12,000 people annually in full-stage theater productions, K-12 school assemblies, community outreach performances and presentations to facilities serving special needs populations.
Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre is excited and proud to honor Claudia Campbell-Matland, Senior Director at Accriva Diagnostics (representing ITC and Accumetrics), for her volunteer work, long-time support and commitment to our organization. Claudia's career in the diagnostics industry spans over 25 years, beginning at Carter-Wallace and Johnson & Johnson, with leadership positions over the past 19 years at ITC in Marketing, Business Development and Research & Development. She has a Master of Science in Microbiology from Rutgers University/UMDNJ Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Claudia has devoted much time and talent to the marketing and development efforts at Alborada, in her current service as Chair of the Marketing Committee, and previous membership on the Development Committee and Board of Trustees. Claudia has helped the company standardize and increase its marketing and branding efforts, and broadened the company's funding base by obtaining new sponsors and grants. Devotion to the Alborada mission is a family affair, with Claudia's husband Robert Matland assisting our Set Designer Charles Seal with many backstage activities. Claudia is an audience pleasing soloist in the company, as well as dancing in some ensemble works, and she also teaches Alborada adult student flamenco classes in Metuchen and assists Eva Lucena train the company apprentices. Prior to joining Alborada, Claudia trained and danced in local community-based Spanish Dance & Flamenco groups - under her mentor Alma ConcepcĂon at Princeton Ballet School, where she eventually taught beginner Spanish Dance for 6 years. She also worked with Jorge Navarro in New York, and trained with Carmen Segura in Madrid, Teodoro Morca in Washington and at the Maria Benitez Institute for Spanish Arts in New Mexico.
