Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents "A Celebration of John Steinbeck!"
The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Beverly Everett, continues its 75th anniversary season with "A Celebration of John Steinbeck!" featuring Clay Jenkinson as Steinbeck. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Bemidji High School Auditorium.
Clay Jenkinson is one of the most sought after humanities scholars in the United States, and Bemidji is fortunate to welcome him back on stage performing in the persona of American novelist John Steinbeck. This concert will feature the rich culture associated with John Steinbeck as well as wonderful movie scores based on his works. Two of the prominent scores we will feature on this concert are from "Of Mice and Men" and "The Red Pony", both composed by the great American composer, Aaron Copland. Also on the program are Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and "Hoe-Down" from Rodeo.
This concert is supported by a grant from the George W. Neilson Foundation.
