Village Idiots Comedy Club
The Village Players Community Theater have graciously leased us their "home" for the Village Idiots Comedy Club three times a year...between their season shows.
Feb. 28 and March 1 will be the second of the three comedy weekends. This show will feature
John Bunyan-John developed his storytelling comedy style listening to Bill Cosby, the Smothers Brothers, and George Carlin in the 1960s and 70s. He was a writer for Gary Burbank's WLW comedy radio show for 20+ years until Gary retired. John has performed at The Funny Bone, Go Bananas and other comedy shows with Lisa Landry, Drew Hastings, Mike Lukas and Ryan Stout. John is the 2010 winner of the "Funniest Person in Cincinnati" contest.
Ally Buener- Ally Bruener is an up and coming comedian based out of Louisville, Kentucky. At the age of 25, Ally has experienced all the ups and downs life has to offer. She was diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (CMD) as a toddler and fully bound to a wheelchair by the age of seven. Between being the Junior Goodwill Ambassador (aka "poster child") for the MDA for numerous years and finding her voice as a self-advocate at a young age, Ally knew her rightful place in this world was in front of a crowd. In September 2010, Ally took her first roll into the world of Stand Up Comedy when she signed up for a five week course with the Underground Comedy School. After performing her graduation set on the main stage at Comedy Caravan, Ally received such a warm welcome from comedians and audience members, alike, that she knew she had found her new home: the comedy stage. Now three years later, Ally has had the opportunity to perform across the Midwest and has emceed for headliners such as Dale Jones and Spanky Brown. In 2013, she was named Louisville's Funniest Comedienne, was a finalist in the Funniest Person in Cincinnati Contest, and winner of Dayton Funny Bone's annual Titans of the Clash. This unabashed college dropout breaks the limits of political correctness with self-deprecating cripple jokes and darkly observational humor while still stealing the hearts of a shocked audience. Her sweet and innocent demeanor is the ultimate misdirection.
Butch Wesley- With an unmistakable voice Butch Wesley is a comedian who commands your attention. Butch's act revolves around actual events from his life that he is able to weave into hilarious stories that draw crowds in even further. One of the good guys in comedy with a penchant for geek culture and good beer Butch can be seen at clubs and colleges across the country.
Brian Knab- Back by popular demand, Brian is the every man's comic. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Brian Knab has always dreamed of being a stand up comic. Due to his chronic procrastination, he waited until the age of 38 to begin that pursuit. (He's probably writing tonight's set as you read this). After just one open mic performance, he entered, and won, the Go Bananas Funniest Person in Cincinnati contest in the amateur division in 2011. Brian finds his inspiration and material from his life as a father of two pre-teens and his day job that he hopes to one day quit so he can follow his dream of working in stand up comedy and sleeping in.
Teri Foltz- This comedy club is Teri's baby and she hosts each performance. She will do a short set to warm up the audience and then hand it over to the pros! Teri is a retired high school teacher turned comic turned playwright.
