Mardi Gras Music Festival
We are hosting an authentic Mardi Gras event!
That means there will be a Queen and King, tons of beads, New Orleans style BBQ and food, drinks and music that will keep you moving all night long. Doors open at 6pm; music starts at 7pm.
Opening up the festivities is Filé Gumbo, a Seattle based-zydeco band. The Kim Archer Band will then kick the evening into high gear. Our headliner for the night is Gabriel with Merrilee Rush.
Filé Gumbo will start us off right with their distinct Louisiana flavors of Rockin' Cajun, Zydeco Soul and New Orleans R&B honed for the past 25 years. Maybe you've seen them at Bumbershoot Seattle, WA, Jazz in the Valley Ellensburg, WA or Sunbanks R&B Fest Electric City, WA.
Next up is Kim Archer, known for her raw, powerhouse performances, following in the footsteps of great female singer/songwriters like Joan Armatrading, Melissa Etheridge and Bonnie Raitt; you'll get your groove on with Kim's heavy, funky soul sound.
Our headliner for the evening is Merrilee Rush, with the band Gabriel. In the 1970's, Gabriel was one of Seattle's most popular and influential bands of the decade. During this time they sold a quarter million records worldwide; their biggest record was "Martha," (1977), reached #32 on the Billboard Charts. These two original, hit-making artists perform some of the most iconic hits from the musical era that changed both a generation of young people and the world at large. Rush's show features hit songs like "Every Time I Roll the Dice," Gabriel hit "Take it Back," "Love The One You're With," "China Grove," and, of course, her signature song, "Angel of the Morning."
Check out this sneak peak of Merrilee & Gabriel performing together.
Tickets are $30 per person (or $35 at the door) and includes an authentic BBQ meal from Murph's BBQ (blackened chicken, pork sliders, gumbo, dirty rice, red beans and rice, and salad). There will be a King Cake, too!
This is a 21+ only event. The bar will be serving a signature cocktail, the Hurricane, and other libations.
Mardi Gras attire is encouraged, the more outrageous the better! Bring on the glitz, glitter, sparkles, and a fantastic mask... we're gonna have a ball!
