Dancing with the Queers presents... 1st Annual Queer Costume Ball www.dancingwiththequeers.com
WHEN: February 28, Friday | 7:00 - 10:30 pm
WHERE: Lake Merritt Dance Center, 200 Grand Ave, Oakland - This venue is fully wheel chair accessible, with free parking lot and 15 mins walk from 19th St. BART station. -The Ball will take place at the gorgeous upstairs ballroom overlooking the lake of the historic Lake Merritt Dance Center.
HOW: By tickets in advance for $15 each at | Tickets at the door are $20 each
DESCRIPTION: - A night of dancing and carousing, reels and 2 steps, swings and waltzes galore. - Elegant, outrageous and teeming with fun. - Queer partner dancing dressed up in all manner of vintage and steampunk splendor. With the flair and imagination and irreverence that only we can muster. - Taught and DJ'd by Zoe Balfour of Dancing with the Queers and Trip the Light Fantastic
Lessons: 7:00 - 7:30 | Waltz 7.30 - 8.00 | Congress of Vienna Waltz Followed by open dancing to Live DJ.
All are welcome - specially beginners. Costumes admired but not required Hors d'ouvres included, drinks available for purchase
