Tenacious Roots: Youth Leadership for Environmental Action Saturdays 10am-3pm: October 4--November 22 Ages 14-19
This is your world. This is your time. Get outside and get your hands dirty building your future and learning the skills to be a leader in your community. On this 8-week course you will earn 40 community service hours restoring habitat in the park for people and wildlife while exploring environmental careers by meeting environmental advocates and professionals. You will begin by learning the communication, decision making, and problem solving skills needed to lead a team. You will test these skills as you plan and execute a public service projects on October 11 and during Green Seattle Day on November 8. In the end you will find you have new roots in the community and the confidence and voice to take the reins, make an impact and have your voice heard. Participants are required to attend all sessions. Lunch provided.
Priority Deadline September 22. Final Deadline September 29.

I would like to sign my son up for this class, but we will miss one day for Spring Break and another day for his high school Jazz Band going to Spokane for a Jazz Fest. Is this okay? |

Yes, that is OK, he will still make 6 of the 8 sessions and get to work on a number of great projects. |
