WILD GULF SHRIMP FEAST
Institute of Culinary Education New York, NY
The White Boot Brigade is a group of independent, family shrimpers who use traditional methods to deliver the bounty of the Gulf Coast to our tables. Many of these shrimpers lost their homes and boats to Hurricane Katrina and, before that, their traditional way of life was threatened by unsustainably farmed shrimp. We invite you to help these traditional shrimp producers by enjoying their delicious shrimp here in New York City. Come to the WILD GULF SHRIMP FEAST at the Institute of Culinary Education(ICE)and sample these great tasting shrimp! 6:45-7:00 Video Presentation and a Visit by the White Boot Brigade 7:00-7:40 Wild Gulf Shrimp Cooking Demonstration 7:45-9:45 Hands-on Wild Gulf Shrimp Cooking Class and Feast (including beverages)
