CANCELLED: The Teetotalers (Martin Hayes, Kevin Crawford, John Doyle)
UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO AN UNFORSEEN SCHEDULING CONFLICT, BOTH OF THE TEETOTALERS SHOWS ARE CANCELLED.  THIS IS UNFORTUNATE AND WE ARE VERY HOPEFUL THAT THE DYNAMIC TRIO WILL RETURN SHORTLY TO THE BACKROOM.   MEANWHILE, IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT TICKETS, YOU WILL RECEIVE NOTICE VERY SHORTLY ON A REFUND.

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT MARTIN HAYES WILL BE IN TOWN ON MARCH  28TH AS PART OF "MASTERS OF TRADITION" WHICH PROMISES TO BE AN AMAZING CONCERT AT THE SOMERVILLE THEATRE PRESENTED BY WORLD MUSIC.  "Masters of Tradition celebrates Irish music in its purest form and features Martin Hayes and Cathal Hayden on fiddle, Iarla Ó Lionáird on vocals, Dennis Cahill and Seamie O'Dowd on guitar, Máirtín O'Connor on accordion and David Power on uilleann pipes."

GO TO WWW.WORLDMUSIC.ORG FOR MORE INFORMATION.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE ABOVE CONCERT.

HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE BURREN BACKROOM AT ONE OF OUR OTHER SHOWS.

This concert last year was a highlight of any genre of live folk in the Boston area and beyond. I will start by staying that both shows on that single evening, sold out rapidly, so don't miss out!

Its almost too good to be true!  Fiddler Martin Hayes, flute and whistle player Kevin Crawford, and guitarist/singer John Doyle.  Each individually would sell out a concert in a theatre.  Here, as this trio, hey are together!  TOGETHER!   I mean really; extraordinary.

Two shows.  Intimate music.  This early concert will sell out rapidly, so take action now - and I mean NOW - if you want to be a part of it.

The Burren Backroom series launched in October of 2011 but has already created many memorable, intimate, informal presentations held in a truly atmospheric space which was created by well-known traditional musicians Tommy and Louise McCarthy in Davis Square, Somerville, Masachusetts.

Hosted by Brian O'Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, these gatherings feature core performers from many aspects of traditional music as well as special guests, and conversations around the music.  As is the custom of the Burren, it is anticipated informal and dynamic post concert sessions will be a feature.

Tickets are $23 in advance, with a $5 discount for WGBH Members.  If you are a member, send an e-mail to celtic@wgbh.org and we will send you the code.

Seating is VERY limited and these events have been selling out, so get your tickets today!
